New Years 2012
So last night was New Years Eve. I haven't been looking forward to new years eve, because I figured I'd be trying to get over jet lag, and having to listen to fireworks while trying to sleep, since that's what happened last New Years Eve in India. This year, was amaing.
So, to bring in the new year, me and some of my team mates went to the roof of our building. We had no instruments, but we just started singing worship music, reading from the Bible, and doing some heavy praying over the city. It was so crazy. As the New Year came, we continued to pray and worship, as the fireworks went off. There was another rooftop not far from us with a lot of guys on it doing some sort of weird dance... I didn't like it, so I prayed that Jesus would make them stop. Immediatly they stopped, and I laughed to myself. They started up again about 4 minutes later, and we just sang and prayed.... The fireworks reminded us of being in the middle of a battlefeild. As soon as we said "Amen", we opened our eyes, and everything stopped- there was no noise (which is weird for India on a normal day), and no fireworks... and all so suddenly. We were all like 'woah...'
This morning we got ready for church, and I just knew God wanted me to speak. This is kind of crazy because I wouldn't just be speaking, but literally preaching. I kept kind of arguing with God, thinking 'I don't have anything prepared... how am I going to speak when I don't know what to talk about?... They probably won't even ask me...' Finally I just went upstairs and grabed my journal and wrote down some scriptures that God kept putting in my head the past two days, so if I was called to preach, I wouldn't go up there and look like an idiot when trying to quote the verses He was telling me.
Sure enough, we got to church, and I was asked to give a message. Durring worship I looked at my watch and realized it was turning midnight back in the US. So not only did we bring in the New Year in India with Worship, but we brought in the New Year for America singing worship in India. YES! :D Anyways, then came time for me to speak, and I got up... I wasn't quite sure how to start off or anything... I was shaking. So I began with a translator, "Hello! My name is Cami, and I have never done this before, so I am going to pray real quick." I said a prayer asking God to speak through me, and let whatever I said not be my own words, but His. I was even studdering a bit and my voice cracked as I prayed. But as soon as I said "Amen, it ALL went away, and words just started coming out of me that were not prepared, but totally tyed in with the scripture I had written down that morning! It was awesome!! I was filled with peace and calmness the whole time... after about 10-15 minutes, I realized I was finished speaking.. and just like I didn't know how to begin, I wasnt quite sure how to end... so I just looked at the pastor of the church and said, "That's it." :)
What an awesome day to bring in the New Year! Another prophecy fulfilled! Praise Jesus <3
